Can an old Barlo valve be replaced with the Giacomini/Barlow rtv replacement head when the radiator has microbore pipes?
Yes, as long as it has the fixing as shown.
Does this replace giacomini R460
Yes it will.
Are these a direct replacement for the old style Giacomini TRV heads with read Giacomini writing on top. (Have photos if needed) thanks.
Yes they are.
i HAVE TWO VALVES WITH NO HEADS FOUND ONE WITH THERMOSTATIC HEAD BEHIND THE RAD COVER NO IDEA WHAT BRAND IT IS i DO HAVE A PHOTO WHICH i CAN UPLOAD TO YOU IF i MAY. REGARDS MICHAEL
Please email it to sales@heatingcontrolsonline.co.uk
Can these be fitted vertically or do they only work horizontally?
They work best fitted horizontally, but they are fine vertically.
You supplied and I have fitted the Geocomini/Barlo replacement thermostats. I need to take one off as the inner seal of the valve is leaking. How do I take the thermostat off the valve, please? Regards
Just pull up the push down ring. It can be quite stiff.
I have an old heating system and the Barlo thermostat valve has broken . The plastic has disintegrated. Will this part replace my old one please?
As long as the old ones have the band and screw as shown, then it will be suitable.
Like a previous enquiry my valve is branded UBM and is beige. I can’t spot an answer - will this replacement fit? The valve body where the head clicks on is approximately 21mm in diameter.
Please email us a photo and we will confirm.
Another rad, another question. Will these replace Danfoss BS6284? Similar band & nut (jubilee clip) style fitting.
This is not suitable to replace a Danfoss one. You will need the Danfoss RAVL or RAV sensor.
My valve is badged UBM and beige. Will these valves fit?
Please email us a photo of it to sales@heatingcontrolsonline.co.uk
will this replace old harp with band and screw
Yes it will.
Hi, I have Giacomini rad.valves. My system is over 30 years old now & one of the valves has broken. The model I have is Giacomini R452X004 which has the round clip & screw at the bottom, as shown in the small picture above where it shows 2 pictures & in between the pictures it reads "OR" Can you confirm this valve has this type of clip/screw connection please. Thank you.
It has the new style connection, but it will replace yours with the old style.
I need to replace some old Barlo trv heads, which are no longer functional due to broken tabs. They are ~ 30yrs old and are fitted with a band and nut. Will this model (code 02C02) be a suitable replacement? If so, can they be fitted vertically as my existing ones, or must they only be used in the horizontal position?
Yes they will. They can be fitted either horizontally or vertically.
HI I HAVE JUST FITTED A NEW HEAD BUT NOW WANT TO REMOVE IT. IS THIS POSSIBLE ? IF SO HOW IS IT DONE ? BEST REGARDS
Yes, just lift the collar back up.
I have a Giacomini radiator thermostat (is that the same as what people are calling a radiator head?) that needs replacing. It is a cylindrical shape (not pear shaped like the picture) and I'd like to know if the one on sale here would fit as a replacement. I could send a photo is that would help, but not sure how.
Yes it would fit.
I have a nine year old Boss TRV that needs replacing. I can't match it to any of the images on your website, and the only identifier on it is " 42 EN215 ". It has a threaded knurled metal ring at it's base, and this is used to screw it down onto the base. Can you help? Thanks
Please email us a photo to sales@heatingcontrolsonline.co.uk
Are both of the 2 designs available or just the newer version, mine are badged 'UBM' and beige in colour so the obsolete design would match those existing, the system was installed 30 years ago!! Regards Ted Beard
No, just the newer ones.
Hi, I need some trv heads, branded Barlo, but with a hexagon nut screw on fitting. do you have these?
Take a look at HCO code 03D09.
I've got some old Barlo TRV heads which need replacing; the valves they connect to are 22mm - they have screw bands also - will this model fit?
If they have the band and screw as shown in the picture, then they will fit.
Does the valve operate in the vertical position?
Yes it will.
Does the system have to drained to install these valves?
No.
Is this wax or liquid sensor please.
It has a liquid sensor.
Just for clarity - I have a very old barlo trv radiator head which has broken (with the srew band. Will the more recent type replace that without modification of the rad valave?
Yes it will.
The valve top I want to replace looks like the one above except that the silver top of the operating cylinder shows through the top about 0.5 inches across. The base as 2 short pins for it to fix onto. It is very old! Do you think that one will fit? Thanks, Peter Beard
It sounds like yours has just lost the top cap. Iit should fit just fine
My radiators are imperial will this still fit ?
As long as it is one with a band and screw it will fit.
I have these fitted on my rads and need to get the head off to look at the pin can you tell me how to do this thanks
You need to pull the band up.
